Because of his upbringing, his mom is overly invested in his life and restricts him from making mistakes, causing him to keep people at arm’s length, giving him a “mysterious” or “cool” personality but in reality, his affections are hidden to all but Scaredy, his childhood friend. (kuudere)

Having severe asthma when he was a kid prevented him from participating in many social activities that other people his age did like playing games, giving him a stiff appearance, and almost unnoticeable when he read or played digital games. None of this mattered to Scaredy (who was also socially outcasted) because although she liked sports she liked drawing more.

Sometimes he made friends, but couldn’t keep them around because they couldn’t keep up with the demands his mother made when having playmates, except for Scaredy who just didn’t follow them because she knew no matter what his mom would be upset or find something to be upset about.
