A human born of a human mother (Ana) and human father(Jośe) but this was only temporary. Because of the labor Jośe had to provide he was drugged with Yuan-ti broth keeping him awake and working longer, however, it eventually turned him. The painful transformation had left him without his arms, fused into his body, and his legs together, he turned nearly entirely snake his face was the only thing left untouched.
His turn was seen as a blessing from the deity Merrshaulk who had not seen activity for over a millennium. His design was near perfection a transformation that had led the people to make him THE priest.
However, all the good, came with the bad as well. Jośe and Ana's relationship declined especially after they had Edari’s two Half-Blood siblings, eventually, they separated. Ana had kids too early in her life and spent every chance she had ‘wanting to have fun.’ Her work was as an Embalmer dealing with human corpses because Yuan-Ti refused to touch filth. Other times she worked as a Funeral mute which only paid in alcohol.
Edari was trapped was treated more like a ‘pet’ in only the worst ways, she missed many developmental milestones far into her teenage years and despite her situation, her father acted helpless to aid her. She hungered to live and not just survive.
Those feelings festered until she finally escaped, running away from a dull cage to join an adventuring group, the group was full of adventure and light-hearted fun, She grew partially attached to Amaris. On their last quest together it was to kill a troublesome Fire Snake, but when they got there it was seen that it was a mother. Edari could not help but take the single egg as her party fought and killed the mother. The group left with their atrociousness and getting paid one last time as Amaris comforted Edari, speaking for her when needed.
The group disbanded had only lasting a year. Edari pained knowing that she had to go back home with her son Algiz.
Amaris like the good friend she is, pulled Edari telling her that she didn’t have to her mother, that if they could make her Yuan-Ti she could be by her father. Edari did not want to be played for a fool. She told Amaris to state her intention because she never spoke to her. Amaris caved, she explained that she's the only person in her family who could be burdened with Lesser Light but did not want the fate, if her form died that she would be free from the suffering it would bring.
Edari thought but only needed a moment before agreeing, Amaris took to Edari’s agreement for her to be slaughtered to create a better Edari and free her from her faith. Sorcerous Ritual was witnessed only by Yuan-Ti. She became only Pureblood but like the gods in body, thought, and emotion.
